New Home Program
The New Home Programme provides safe, decent, and sustainable housing support to vulnerable families, including orphans, widows, older persons, people living with disabilities, and households affected by poverty or natural disasters. The programme focuses on the construction, renovation, and rehabilitation of homes while promoting access to basic amenities such as sanitation facilities, clean water, and safe living environments.
This initiative aims to provide secure, dignified housing for individuals and families living in extreme poverty and improving the rural roads infrastractuture to enable the rural population access essential facilities such as Schools, Hospitals, and Markets.
Uganda’s ambition to expand affordable social housing is closely linked to rapid urban growth, shifting household needs, and the practical challenge of delivering homes that remain affordable to live in, not only affordable to build. For low income families, housing security depends on safe structures, reliable services, and predictable running costs.
Housing and Community Infrastructure Programme
This program includes:
Housing Construction: The foundation constructs durable, low-cost housing units using local materials and labor. These homes are designed to accommodate families and offer basic amenities such as proper roofing, sanitary facilities, and ventilation.
Home Renovations: For families who already have homes but live in poor conditions, the foundation provides renovation services. This could include repairing roofs, replacing doors and windows, and reinforcing walls to ensure structural safety.
Beneficiary Selection: Beneficiaries are selected based on need, with priority given to vulnerable groups such as orphans, widows, and disabled persons. The foundation works with community leaders to identify those most in need.
Post-Housing Support: The foundation offers basic household items to new homeowners, including bedding, utensils, and hygiene products, ensuring a smooth transition into the new homes. This initiative will enable families live in safe, secure housing experience improved health outcomes, greater stability, and a sense of dignity, which enhances their ability to participate in social and economic activities.
Building a House for the Founder: Building a house for the founder is a strategic first step in realizing the broader vision of UNCLE-TUSIIME DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION. The house is not just a residence but a community hub, a demonstration of the foundation’s commitment to improving housing in rural areas, and a model for sustainable and affordable construction.
