Many young people complete formal education without acquiring practical employable skills or entrepreneurial competencies. Consequently, thousands of graduates and school leavers remain unemployed or engaged in low-income informal activities. Rural youth are-particularly disadvantaged due to limited access to markets, technology, sports infrastructure, mentorship, business incubation services, and investment capital.
At the same time, Uganda possesses enormous untapped talent in sports, music, film, digital innovation, agribusiness, creative arts, and entrepreneurship.
Youth Empowerment and Sports & Talent Development Programme
Uganda has one of the youngest populations in the world, with more than 75% of its population below the age of 35. This youthful demographic presents an extraordinary opportunity to accelerate socio-economic transformation, innovation, productivity, and national development. However, it also presents significant challenges due to high youth unemployment, underemployment, limited access to quality education and vocational skills, inadequate access to finance, drug and substance abuse, crime, social exclusion, and limited opportunities for meaningful participation in economic and civic life.

The Foundation therefore seeks to implement a comprehensive Youth Empowerment, Leadership, Sports and Innovation Programme that equips young people with practical skills, entrepreneurial capacity, leadership competencies, financial literacy, digital skills, and opportunities for sports and creative talent development.
The programme adopts an integrated approach that combines leadership development, vocational education, entrepreneurship support, sports excellence, innovation, financial inclusion, apprenticeship opportunities, and creative industries development. It aims to transform young people from job seekers into job creators, responsible leaders, innovators, professional athletes, and productive citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to Uganda's economic transformation.
